Luke 18:9-14 King James Version (KJV)
9And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: 10Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. 11The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. 12I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. 13And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. 14I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

Matthew 27:42 King James Version (KJV)
He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him.
Christ Jesus went through various trials, suffering, and death upon the cross to pay our sin debt to allow us to have fellowship with Him while on Earth and ultimately in Heaven.

But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.
Don’t let yourself become a slave to external religion. It is important to God that who we are on the outside is the same as on the inside.

With all lowliness and meekness, with long suffering, forbearing one another in love;
Even as Christians, we need a daily renewal of our mind to maintain a healthy relationship with God. It is an ongoing effort to move away from sin to getting victory from that sin.

John 13:3-10 King James Version (KJV)
3Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he was come from God, and went to God; 4He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself. 5After that he poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded. 6Then cometh he to Simon Peter: and Peter saith unto him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet? 7Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter. 8Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me. 9Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head. 10Jesus saith to him, He that is washed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all.

Proverbs 1:24-33 King James Version (KJV)
24Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded; 25But ye have set at nought all my counsel, And would none of my reproof: 26I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh; 27When your fear cometh as desolation, And your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; When distress and anguish cometh upon you. 28Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; They shall seek me early, but they shall not find me: 29For that they hated knowledge, And did not choose the fear of the LORD: 30They would none of my counsel: They despised all my reproof. 31Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, And be filled with their own devices. 32For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, And the prosperity of fools shall destroy them. 33But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, And shall be quiet from fear of evil.
Whatever you do, don’t say "I can’t!" God does not put burdens on His people that they can’t do. God tells us here we will find rest in doing what He wants us to do.

Malachi 2:1-3 King James Version (KJV)
1And now, O ye priests, this commandment is for you. 2If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, To give glory unto my name, saith the LORD of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: Yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay it to heart. 3Behold, I will corrupt your seed, And spread dung upon your faces, even the dung of your solemn feasts; And one shall take you away with it.
