How God Works

Back in May on the trip to the Rolling Thunder Rally (Washington DC) I lost my rear brakes on my bike. I could not find a place to stop on the way up, so I continued to the rally. After the rally, I asked for prayer as I proceeded to Baltimore, MD. to try to fix the brakes. But when I found out how expensive the part was (which had to be ordered), I ended up patching the brakes and God got me safely home.  I never told anyone that I needed a part to fix the bike permanently or how much it would cost.  But what happened next is how God works in mysterious ways to help us, even when we have not prayed about it. Someone at Heritage Bible Church talked with the pastor there, and the church took it upon themselves to supply the funds to permanently fix the bike the right way. What a blessing that was for me to see God work in a way that I had not prayed about. Praise God for His goodness.

Time share

We tried to make the time share work for us at the Daytona Beach Rally twice a year. It would have saved us a lot of money, put we could not get the dates we needed each year. So we gave it up.

Please pray as we look to God to see how we can go to Daytona twice a year for the rallies and do it at a price we can afford. We have been used greatly by God at these rallies to lead people to Christ and help Christians who needed spiritual help.

Day Run

We hosted a Day Run to the Wilds Christian Camp on Sunday this month. We thought the rain was never going to stop, and we might have to cancel. But Sunday morning looked promising, and we followed through with our plans to go.

Of the 9 of us who attended, 2 were not saved. We got to the Wilds, and Dr. & Mrs. Hay were there to greet us. We then went in for a lunch (which was great). After lunch Doc Hay gave us a tour of the Wilds, and we ended up at the Fremont Hall where we had a service with Doc Hay speaking to us. Pray for Charles and Bob, one of which seems to be under conviction. It was a great time of fellowship with a great ride. We never did get rained on, praise God.

Two People I Led To Christ

I led two non-bikers to Christ last year.  At Bike Week (Daytona Beach, Fl) I met Marcos from California. I led him to Christ and am discipling him over the phone and through email. He is now attending a good local church in his town and reading his Bible as well. We are able to find good churches in an area through the Bob Jones University data base.

I led Martin from North Carolina to Christ at the Rolling Thunder Rally (Washington DC), and he is now attending a local church as well. I am praising God not only for being used to lead people to Christ, but to help disciple them,  and see that they are growing in Christ. I keep in touch with them on a regular basis to make them accountable.

Both of these men are not bikers and were just attending the events. God is using us to minister to the biking world as well as to people in general we run into along the way.

God is using us through the tracts and Bibles ministry as well. I had to order and reorder more this year than ever before. The Gospel is getting out to all the events we are going to.

Prayer Requests

1. Pray for Carol, she need to forgive others
2. Pray for Rick & his wife, that God will get a hold of their hearts and get back in fellowship with Him
3. This new year with many opportunities to witness and see many come to Christ
4. Thomas and Cindy do not seem to be growing and need our prayers
5. Pray for my Mom. She is doing better, healing is taking a long time
6. Pray for Dwayne & Little Henry who needs to be discipled
7. We are going to try something new this year at the Red Cross Rally in Greenville, SC. We will do a free cookout at the Greer Drags on Friday in September. There will be a bike drag that night (4:00-10:00pm) and a lot of ABATE members will be there.  We are going to cook for them as a way to minister. Please make this a big matter of prayer now for this event and that we will get the Gospel out that night as we serve them.
